A Web site dedicated to sharing the experience of family in every form

You are invited to share your stories with us… so that we can share them with others.

The family is in transition, from the small farm communities our grandparents knew and the tidy nuclear units of the 1950s, to more varied, fluid and creative forms. There are as many different kinds of family life as there are families, and we’d like to break away from statistics and comparisons to celebrate what family is, now!

The examples of illustrations and anecdotes on childbirth and family life on this site are from experiences shared by Canadian families. They are just the beginning! To this core of anecdotes we’d like to add testimonials on other aspects of family life, including same-sex couples, living with grown-up children, and marriage breakup. So we need your help.

How can you participate? First, enjoy the stories presented here, they will warm your heart! Check out the list of new topics in the “What’s To Come” page. Then send us a story or an anecdote about your family that you feel inspired to share. It can be about any of the topics already mentioned, or you can suggest another. It can be about a positive or a negative experience, a complaint or an assertion. Feel free to send poetry or prose — everything goes! Follow the “Participate” link for details.

Family relationships are the building blocks of society, and we believe they need to be shared and celebrated in order for them to continue to grow and prosper.
